what not to read

Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good Very Bad Day surely was not written for 3 year olds. Especially 3 year olds with whining tendancies.
Read it and you'll understand.
Simeon looked confused, it didn't fit in with his happy little world.
Maybe in a few years....

hugs

although i staged the hug picture, know that they really do hug each other throughout the day. Justus goes up to Simeon, says "awww brov" and sorta leans his head in while half-squatting until he gets a return hug.
I'm thankful for true friends. My true friend considered it no big deal to bring her two kids over and stay with mine today so I could use her car, run to the doctor with Simeon and run an errand. She at the last minute gave up her morning but again, it was no big deal.
Darla's a keeper.
Simeon survived his 3 year old check up, the shot, the anticipation of the shot (which of course is the worst) and the way worst part - having to politely converse with the nurse and the doctor. The highlight was the "muscle machine" ... she put it on his arm to test and see if his muscles are as big as his daddy's. Turns out they are. And his blood pressure is great too =) He's 35 lbs and 37 1/4 inches. (note: Justus is 33 lbs 4 oz)
I'm thankful for my healthy boys. and for my upcoming afternoon out alone while my mom is here. Nana makes everything better in this house =)

2nd is the hardest

I've decided that this second blog entry is a hard one to write. I was feeling like it needs to be clever or comical but its quite silly to spend too much time thinking about it.... so I thought i would get it over with and share some simple thoughts from today.
My boys had their friends Jack and Brooke over and it is precious to see them together. They all love each other so much, how fun it is to watch! There was a terminator, a dragon slayer, a big bad wolf, a marching band, lots of "that's mine" and even more hugs.
I'm cooking Japanese food for dinner. Shoyu beef on rice with marinated eggs. Oh the memories.
what a lazy, mellow day...
Phew, my second entry is done, from here on out, no more pressure=)

why am i doing this?

I have decided to start a blog again, and I thought I'd start with a short explanation of my reasons. I blogged in Japan (www.xanga.com/libbyruth) and living in Japan gave me unique situations every day which made my blog quite interesting to read.... since I've been back in NJ I've figured that I don't have much to say that is different from the others around me. Also, we haven't had a computer... I suppose that has come in to play as well. But now we do have one, and I have decided that I do indeed have an interesting enough life to blog about, mostly because of the two little boys that fill every single day with excitement and joy. No one needs to read this unless they want to, and I can rest assured that at least my mom will read it every day. I enjoy writing, I enjoy sharing, and i love life so why not?? My stories may not be as entertaining as they were from Asia, and they may be a bit more quirky, but it's all good....
I'm excited =)
